How to Measure

Measure length, width, and height at the longest point of each side, in inches, and round up to the next whole inch. Carriers use these three numbers to calculate dimensional weight, which can cost more than the box's actual weight.

Match the fan's blade span to your room's square footage — 36 inches for a small room, up to 54-60+ inches for a large one — and confirm at least 7 feet of clearance between the blades and the floor.

Measure the width at the top, middle, and bottom of the opening and use the narrowest number; measure the height at both sides and the middle and use the shortest. Also measure the door slab's thickness and the wall's depth.

Measure from the center of the two hinge bolt holes to the front edge of the bowl. Round bowls measure about 16.5 inches this way; elongated bowls measure about 18.5 inches.

TV size is the screen's diagonal measurement, corner to corner across the glass only — not the width, and not including the bezel or stand. A "55-inch TV" has a 55-inch diagonal screen.

The long marks are inches. Between them, the marks split each inch into halves, quarters, eighths, and sixteenths — the longer the tick, the bigger the fraction.
